The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has reportedly reacted to the viral news which claims that the Edo State Executive Governor, Mr Godswill Obaseki allegedly defected to PDP and would be given a free pass to contest, Just few days after Wike received him at the Rivers State Government House in Port Harcourt.
Wike has just reacted to those rumours and denied them while Speaking to a group of journalists earlier today.
He clearly stated that no decision at all of such content was taken during his recent one on one private meeting with the Governor of Edo State, Obaseki.
He however, went further to say that Obaseki will be fully welcomed and as well given a warm acceptance, if at all he makes up his mind to defect to PDP to pursue his political career.
He further added that in this case, the right to choose whomever the party (PDP) will adopt as their running governorship candidate to represent in Edo state in the forthcoming governorship election, is largely dependent on the party chapter in Edo state.
Governor Wike, vehemently condemned, Nigerian executive Governors Forum for their silence and not at all speaking out in correction, against the level of injustice that is being melted out on Obaseki by his party, the APC and their screening committee.
He also criticized all the ruling APC governors in the country for allegedly turning their back an being cowards, as well as abandoning their own colleague, Governor Obaseki just for the mere fear of having to suffer a very similar fate as him.
