APC Backs Governor Fayemi For 2023 Presidency
The Ekiti chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has urged Governor Kayode Fayemi to contest the presidency in 2023.
The state caretaker chairman, Paul Omotoso, Saturday, December 19, said Fayemi is eminently qualified to occupy the position considering his political profile, Vanguard reported.
He said APC members will drag the governor into the presidential race if he refuses to willingly contest.
According to The Nation, Omotoso who was represented by the state publicity secretary, Ade Ajayi, at a political event said it was time for a Nigerian president to emerge from the Ekiti state.
The politician said:
“On the 2023 presidency, the time has come for President to come from Ekiti. That is why we are pleading with you to support Governor Fayemi.
“Though Governor Fayemi has never said he wanted to contest, we will force him to plunge into the race, because of his competence, dedication, and loyalty to APC.”
