COVID-19: IMSU FACULTY OF ENGINEERING PRODUCES HAND WASHING MACHINE

Ealier today staff and some students in the faculty of engineering Imo State University(IMSU) presented the first batch of hand washing and sanitizing machine as part of it’s response to the fight against covid-19 pandemic.

The machine comes in two types , one is Automated hand washing machine which can work on it’s own using sensors and the second is Semi-automated hand washing machine which only works when the pedals are pressed upon.

While presenting the machines to the vice chancellor of the university Prof.Mrs. Adaobi Obasi , the Dean Faculty of Engineering Engr.Dr. L.E OBI stated that the creation of this machine is to eliminate this syndrome of contamination and recontamination
“The machines we have, you don’t need to touch them. We have Automated machine which has electrical components,and works by reflection and secondly we have another one called Semi-automated, it works this way, use your leg and press the pedal for water and it will give you water , you press soap and it will give you soap then you press the pedal for sanitizer it will spray the sanitizer ,you don’t need to touch anything”

Reacting, the vice chancellor of the University prof.Mrs Adaobi Obasi appreciated their efforts on their new findings, and acknowledged them for their response in the fight against covid-19 pandemic.
