CNPP Laments Withdrawals Of Police Officers From Political Parties

Political parties will soon become targets of assassins and kidnappers, Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP), the umbrella association of all registered political parties in the country has claimed.

According to the organisation, in a statement made availabe to Legit.ng, the move to withdraw the officers is unjust, partial and anti-democratic.

CNPP claimed the withdrawal of police officers attached to 16 out of 18 registered political parties, makes susceptible to kidnappings and assassinations.

This was disclosed in a statement signed by its secretary-general, Chief Willy Ezugwu.

Going further, CNPP accused the police of making selective preference.

CNPP wrote:

“As the umbrella association of all registered political parties in the country, we believe that the action of the police authorities is unjust, partial and anti-democratic, exposing the leadership of 16 registered political parties to attacks by hoodlums.”
