2023 Election: Shettima Says Zoning Will Be Decided By Buhari, Tinubu, Others
Kashim Shettima, former governor of Borno state, has stated that it is too early to discuss the 2023 presidency by the leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti state capital on Friday, December 4, during a two-day high-level mid-term retreat, the APC chieftains described as a total distraction the wrangling recently generated over zoning.
Shettima said when the time comes, leaders of APC including President Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Lagos governor, will decide where the new presidential candidate of the party would come from.
The former governor, who spoke alongside the minister of work and housing Raji Fashola, maintained that APC will not disintegrate over the presidential ticket.
He also expressed confidence that the party would win the election by 2023.
“Don’t forget that our party still controls the Presidency. We have a leader and other competent leaders that can manage every crisis situation.
“At the appropriate time, our leaders will sit and take the apt decision that will resolve the issue.”
